Reasons And Answers Why Your Computer May Be Slow

Sometimes you may suddenly feel that your computer is running very slowly. You may be used to the speed of your computer and the sudden change can cause a lot of discomfort and hinder your work too. Instead of taking the situation lightly you have to be really worried and think why my computer is slow. There are several reasons for this. You have to analyze each reason one by one and try to fix the problem as soon as possible. If you are not able to do so you can take the help of a professional immediately. Most often your computer can be slow if you do something new. For example, if you install any hardware like a printer or a game etc it could affect the speed. Uninstalling it can sometimes help you to set your system right. If you are installing any new hardware make sure that your computer has all the requirements needed for installing the hardware. Another problem which causes the slowdown is the buildup of temporary files. Sometimes you may leave your computer without shutting down for days. This causes the buildup of temporary files and takes up a lot of space in your computer. This causes clogging of other resources too. You have to restart or reboot your system in order to clear these files and restore the speed.
If you are a person who uses the internet often then you have to keep your system safe from viruses. Malware like spyware, Trojans, viruses and worms etc can infect your system and do a lot of damage and slowdown your computer. In order to prevent this situation you have to run virus scans at least once a month regularly. This will help you to remove all such malicious code and protect your computer from further damage. Also, make sure that you have good anti-virus installed for protecting your computer from dangerous malware.
Another method to restore your system speed is to try running it in the safe mode. When you start your computer normally, Windows loads a lot of data in the memory of the computer. But if you run it in the safe mode you will be accessing only the basic files and drivers like the monitor, mouse, keyboard, default systems etc. There will be no network connections. So the processor will be running with a small part of its capacity. If you feel that your system is running faster in this mode it means that some application or drivers could be causing the slowing down in normal mode. In case you have installed a new software or device, you have to uninstall it and see if there is any difference in the speed. If you are not able to find the solution yet try typing the words – my computer is slow in Google search box. You will get a lot of results which should contain the answer to your question.
